Melbourne

Following our trip to New Zealand, we went to Melbourne for a couple days.   Our first evening, we walked around the city for a bit and ate some delicious sushi.  The following morning, we rode a tram around the city to see all the pretty buildings.  We then went to the Australia versus England Cricket game, which was part of the Ashes match.  Unfortunately, England won the games. It was fun to see part of a cricket game, however it is an incredibly confusing sport.  After the game, we went to St. Kilda and walked along the boardwalk.  That evening, we ate at Little Creatures, which is the only one other than Fremantle.  Later on, we went to a little brewery with some English guys from our hostel and played pool.  Interestingly, the pool table and balls are much smaller than ours at home, making it quite challenging.  On our last day in Melbourne, I went with Julie and Eric to a park outside of the city where we rented a rowboat on the river.  It was a enjoyable and relaxing time.  In the evening, we went up the Eureka tower, which is on the 88th floor of a building overlooking the whole city.  We watched a beautiful sunset and saw all the city lights come on.  I really enjoyed Melbourne and wish I could have spent more time there!
